Reflections Theme 26-27

 

 
How It Works:
  • Creation: Students create an original piece of artwork and an artist's statement interpreting the theme "What My Culture Means to Me." The project is an independent study to be completed outside of school. AI is not permitted in the creation of art work or the artist's statement.
  • Arts Categories: Students can submit original entries in one or more of six distinct categories:
    • All Entries Due in Front Office no later than Monday, October 26, 2026.
      • Dance Choreography
      • Film Production
      • Music Composition
      • Literature
      • Photography
      • Visual Arts
  • Advancement: Winning pieces advance through regional, district, and state levels before reaching the final National PTA judging round.

 

Entry Requirements

Keep these basic entry requirements in mind when creating your Reflections entry: 

  • Entries must be inspired by the current annual theme, "What My Culture Means to Me"
  • Entries must be new artwork, created specifically for the Reflections program. 
  • Entries must be original artwork created by one student only; no team entries. 
  • Entries must include an original title and artist statement.
  • If you use technology or digital platforms to create an entry, you must include a brief description of how the tool(s) was used.
